Keyboard shortcuts can be used to navigate aspects of this site without a mouse or cursor.


When viewing a document, select or tab into the image viewer and use the following controls to manipulate the image.


  • Move up: w or [up arrow]
  • Move down: s or [down arrow]
  • Move left: a or [left arrow]
  • Move right: d or [right arrow]
  • Return to centre: 0
  • Zoom in: = or [shift] + w or [shift] + [up arrow]
  • Zoom out: - or [shift] + s or [shift] + [down arrow]
  • Rotate clockwise: r
  • Rotate counterclockwise: R
  • Flip horizontally: f

    University of Florida Digital Collections

    The University of Florida Digital Collections (UFDC) hosts more than 300 outstanding digital collections, containing over 14 million pages, covering over 78 thousand subjects in rare books, manuscripts, antique maps, children's literature, newspapers, theses and dissertations, data sets, photographs, oral histories, and more for permanent access and preservation. Through UFDC, users have free and Open Access to full unique and rare materials held by the University of Florida and partner institutions.

    Featured Audiovisual Collections

    The collections presented on this page are primarily from the Samuel Proctor Oral History collection and George A. Smather Libraries University Archives collections and focus on digitized historical materials from various audiovisual formats and manuscripts.

    Samuel Proctor Oral History Program Digital Collection

    With over 8,000 interviews, of which over 3,600 are online, the SPOHP collection is one of the largest oral history archives in the South and one of the top collections in the country.

    Michael Gannon Digital Collection

    Digital collection of materials relating Michael V. Gannon, the noted historian, radio commentator, former priest, and emeritus professor of the University of Florida. The materials presented here focus primarily on his weekly television show on the campus television station WUFT. 

    Robert "Bob" Graham Digital Collection

    Daniel Robert Graham (born November 9, 1936) is an American politician and author who served as the 38th governor of Florida from 1979 to 1987 and a United States senator from Florida from 1987 to 2005. He is a member of the Democratic Party.

    George A. Smathers Digital Collection

    George Armistead Smathers was an American lawyer and politician who represented the state of Florida in the United States Senate from 1951 until 1969 and in the United States House from 1947 to 1951, as a member of the Democratic Party.

    Lawton Chiles Digital Collection

    "Walkin" Lawton Mainor Chiles Jr. was an American politician from the U.S. state of Florida. He served as a United States senator from 1971 to 1989 and as the 41st governor of Florida from 1991 to 1998. A Korean War veteran, Chiles later returned to Florida for law school and eventually opened his own private practice in 1955.
